The UNESCO is part of the UN as well as an international organisation in its own right based in Paris, France. It oversees the sectors education, science and culture and currently has 193 member countries.
The UNESCO (www.unesco.org) is not only concerned with science in itself, but with the effects of scientific progress – such as, for instance, bioethical queries into how the natural sciences are progressing.
